That technological advancements such as FinTech, Cryptocurrencies, and Online Forex Trading have revolutionized the way people make financial transactions is undeniable, but what impact do they have on traditional financial markets and consumers?
On the 6th of August, ELYSIAN collaborated with the Tech Malawi Hub to host a Twitter Space under the theme "The Future of Malawi's (Digital) Economy". The Twitter Space provided a platform for a comprehensive exploration of the future of Malawi's economy. Our intent was to provide a holistic view of the role of various financial players in shaping Malawi's economy, highlighting their individual impacts and exploring potential collaborative pathways for a financially advanced and inclusive future.
We had a panel discussion with Wiza Jalakasi, a FinTech Expert and Director atEBANX; Phillip Jr Nkuna, a seasoned Online Forex Trading Expert and CEO of Forex Future Malawi; Alpha Dube, a Cryptocurrency Expert; and Francis L Chanthunya, a seasoned Economist.
Our conversation spanned multiple areas, including Malawi’s digital divide, access to the internet, the challenges and opportunities within various financial disciplines, as well as government policies.
Over four hundred people were in attendance, including Bram Fudzulani, the Chair of the Malawi Internet Governance Forum.
The Launch of the ELYSIAN Podcast
The Twitter Space was recorded and uploaded to Spotify, thus marking the launch of the ELYSIAN Podcasts, which will serve as an extension of ELYSIAN Magazine, to allow our audience the versatility of our content and the formats in which they can consume it.
