ELYSIAN hosted its first event, a business seminar dubbed “Get Business Smart” on October 24, 2020. The aim of the seminar was to create a platform through which current and aspiring creatives could learn and discuss the ins and outs of starting and sustaining a creative business. It also served as a celebration of the upcoming launch of ELYSIAN Magazine.
The topics covered at the seminar were “(How to) Start Your Creative Enterprise”, “Monetizing Your Creativity” and “Business Growth and Sustainability”, delivered by Dineo Mkwezalamba - Founder and Director of Dzuka Africa Organisation; Bongani Prince Chikweba - Media Consultant and Brand Architect; and Thoko Kadewere - Creative Professional—all of whom are dominant in the spheres in which they work.
The Get Business Smart seminar was held during the COVID-19 pandemic and had a fully booked attendance of thirty budding and aspiring business owners from Blantyre City, where the event was held.
